The various ministries of St. John's

"God's gifts of grace come in many forms. Each of you has received a gift in order to serve others. You should use it faithfully." 1 Peter 4:10 NIRV

Youth Ministries calls for passion, patience, and faithfulness with young people as they transition from child to young adult. Youth Ministries is a bridging ministry of education, connection, formation, and hopefully, transformation. Gearing up for the new year, We will have plenty of content coming soon, Please watch announcements as we plan for a great year together.

In September 2009 , San Juan , Speedway is sought to expand the ministry beyond its doors .
Recognizing the changing demographics of Speedway, a Spanish service was added.

We meet every Sunday night at 5:00 PM for worship time followed by an informal gathering for
refreshments and conversation.

The Sweet Dreams Project was established to meet the needs of these children. A social media campaign was begun and to date, over 700 mattresses have been provided by this program to children in the Speedway area and in neighboring IPS schools throughout Marion County.

The Storehouse is a food pantry ministry of St. John's that started in 2004 to address food insecurity in our local community. At that time, a small room in the back of the church with one freezer/refrigerator unit was devoted to the ministry, serving a handful of clients. Today, much of our building of 13,000 sq. ft., is used to facilitate this ministry.

This program is an outreach of St. John's Episcopal Church to address food insecurity among the most vulnerable members of our community--our children.  Since the Spring of 2015 we have expanded this program to serve all four Speedway Schools, providing healthy nutrition to 115 children every weekend during the school year.  Each child receives a "Backsack" of food for their weekend nutrition.
